Ece Demirci, who started piano at the age of 8 with Rana Erksan, studied with State Artist Gülsin Onay for a short time at MSGSU Istanbul State Conservatory, then continued her education with Prof. Metin Öğüt and graduated from the graduate program. With the DAAD scholarship, one of the three scholarships she won, she studied with Prof. Bernhard Ebert at Hannover Musik Hochschule in Germany. Afterwards, she received her Master's and “Concert Pianist” (Konzert-Examen) diplomas from Prof. Catherine Vickers' class at Essen Folkwang Musik Hochschule.
Demirci studied theory and composition with Cemal Reşit Rey in his final semester, and worked privately with composer and pedagogue Ali Darmar during his graduate studies. In 1986, he attended the master classes of Prof. Peter Lang and Tatjana Nikolaijewa at the Mozarteum Academy with the Liones Scholarship. He participated in 1993 International Troy Music Festival, 1996 Münster “Spektakel”, 1998 C.R.Rey International Piano Festival and 2006 and 2013 International Istanbul Music Festivals in solo and chamber music.
His solo and orchestral concerts in international venues such as Tokyo, Bucharest, Salzburg and the 2019 Bayreuth Piano Festival were highly acclaimed. In Turkey, he has performed at important venues such as AKM, CRR Concert Hall, Aksanat, Borusan Music House, Süreyya Opera, Izmir Sanat and Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, and played with orchestras such as Bilkent University Orchestra and Istanbul, Bursa and Çukurova State Symphony. Ece Demirci, who has albums titled “Piano Sonare” (2006) and “85 Years in the Footsteps of the Keys” (November 2015) released by Lila Music Company, is currently a professor at MSGSU Istanbul State Conservatory.
